about the artist + Eric Blackmore
My first box was created when I was six years old. With the help of my father, I put together a small wooden box with box joints (or finger joints). 45 plus years later that box is still in my shop holding extra blades and a few small screws. My father started me on this journey, which eventually led me to art school. I studied design, photography and sculpture for five years at the Cleveland Institute of Art. After graduation, I put together my first shop/studio in the basement of an old brownstone. I now reside in Orlando, Florida and for over 20 plus years have been creating custom furniture for many clients.
I specialize in original custom built and designed furniture, using solid hardwoods and oil based finishes. I use traditional time tested joinery that utilizes the natural strengths of the material and allows for the movement overtime of all solid hardwoods.
Give me a call and let's find out what I can create for you.

First Friday at F.A.V.O
On the first Friday of every month our gallery is open at F.A.V.O. (Faith Arts Village Orlando). We are in Gallery 142, in the corner on the first floor. There are 36 artists that have studios at FAVO, and lots of unique and creative work to see here in Orlando. Come on by and visit us from 5:00 to 9:00 and take home some original wood art! You can also check out faithartsvillage.com to see who else is showing their work.
